About the awards
Best Food Tracking Apps publishes one set of awards a year, reviewed by a registered dietitian, for the apps people use to track what they eat, and keeps them current month by month. The aim is simple: help someone choose a food tracker in ten minutes and still be happy with it in three months.
Nadia Ferrante
Awards editor. Nadia decides the categories with Owen, writes the award citations and the guides, and edits every page before it is published. She is the reason each award page says plainly who should choose the runner-up instead.
Owen Castell
Judging and price checks. Owen maintains the eight-criterion method, marks the finalists, records prices with the date they were checked and keeps the review log. When a company's pages do not document a feature, he marks it Not confirmed rather than guessing.
Josh Robertson, RD
Registered Dietitian, reviewer. Josh reviews every page before it is published: the nutrition and health statements in the guides, the advice on who each app suits, and how the judging criteria are applied.

How the site is run
No advertising, no affiliate links, no accounts and no tracking. The site is static. Product names link to each company's own homepage. The method is published in full in How we judge, changes are dated in the review log, and our rules for sourcing and corrections are in the editorial standards.
Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take medication affected by diet, set targets with a clinician.
